Glass + Breath | April
2009 Picture flying in over Tokyo,
just close enough to see the tiny cars and buses. Little
specks of people going about their daily lives. It
all looks like a realistic toy model come to life and Hideki
Umezawa knows just what that sounds like.
Recording in his kitchen, around the apartment and
in his stairwell during a light rain, he uses glass
harp, tea cups and assorted household items as his
tools, creating evocative atmospheres in miniature. Glass
+ Breath is a glimmering
full length album of delicate experiments that transforms
the macro into micro and holds you mesmerized from
its first moments.
